SPECIAL EVENT: Dia de los muertos (Day of the Dead) 

An invitation to learn about the history and beauty of Dia de la Mortes (Day of the Dead). It’s a family reunion. The guests of honor are our departed loved ones. It is a joyful holiday inviting family and friends to gather, pay respect, remember and celebrate friends and family members who died.

Presenter Bio: 

Norma Hernandez is Puerto Rican by birth and an Oregonian by choice for the last 20 years. For the past 11 years, she has worked for Clatsop County Public Health as the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Coordinator. She is passionate about social justice, community, and cultural diversity. She is a Board Member of the Astoria Parks and Rec Advisory Board, Astoria Coop, Astoria Downtown Historic District Association, and the Liberty Theatre. She volunteers for North Coast Food Web and Consejo Hispano and hosts a monthly radio show on KMUN, Ritmo Latino. In 2021,  She was honored in Portland as part of the Portland Trail Blazers Hometown Hero program, recognizing people who have made a difference in their communities.
