Dougy Center’s Open House Grief Support

Dougy Center is hosting several open house events throughout the summer. Anyone interested in learning more about Dougy Center’s local grief support programs for children and teens after the death of a family member is welcome to come by for a tour. The open house events are June 13, June 27, July 11, and August 8. All are from 2 to 4 p.m. at Dougy Center’s Walker’s House, 252 NW 4th Ave. in Canby.

One in 12 children will have a parent or sibling die before they turn 18. Dougy Center provides peer grief support in a safe place where they can come together and share their experiences. In addition, Dougy Center provides support for their parents and adult caregivers. All of Dougy Center’s programs are provided at no cost to families.

Dougy Center’s Walker’s House was founded in 2005 and established through a partnership with the Walker L. Bean Foundation, Providence Willamette Falls Hospice Foundation, and Dougy Center in memory of Walker Bean. Dougy Center has three grief support groups in Canby that meet every other week for children and teens ages 6 to 18.

If you are unable to attend an open house, but would like to learn more, contact Dougy Center at help@dougy.org or 503-775-5683.
