Green Burial Council: Educating our Communities about Green Burial

The Green Burial Council invites you to our next virtual Peer to Peer meeting, Educating our Communities about Green and Natural Burial. This free event will explore questions and approaches to educating community members and the public about green burial. This panel style event will have plenty of room for questions and answers from guests and is designed to help empower, educate, and inform folks who share information about green and natural burial.

This Peer to Peer will be held on Thursday, October 19th, at 6pm ET/ 5pm CT/ 4pm MT/ 3pm PT via Zoom.

About the moderator-

Brian Hayden is a course producer at ReDesigning the End. Brian has extensive experience as a podcast producer and as a teacher. Brian Hayden co-founded HeatSpring in 2007 and trained thousands of solar installers over the past fifteen years before venturing into the end of life field. Redesigning the End is an educational platform committed to education to improve the experience of aging and dying.

About the speakers-

Lee Webster is a writer, researcher, long-time hospice volunteer, home funeral guide, and frequent speaker and educator on home funerals, green burial, and funeral reform on the local, national, and international front. She regularly guest lectures at colleges and universities, mortuary schools, adult education programs, and co-teaches free and proficiency demonstration classes. She served in chief leadership positions, including presiding, for seven years with the National Home Funeral Alliance and Conservation Burial Alliance while directing New Hampshire Funeral Resources, Education & Advocacy, and co-creating the Funeral Partnership.org home funeral website development company. She is the author of several home funeral and green burial books.

Samuel Perry is a dual licensed mortician, Assistant Lecturer of Mortuary Science and Funeral Service at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and Green Burial Advocate. He has a bachelor’s degree in mortuary science and funeral service and a masters of education. He furthered his studies of funeral rites abroad in countries around the world such as Ghana, Japan, and India. Sam has experience in funeral homes, crematories, and coordinating an anatomical gift program. He is passionate about the environment and has volunteered with the Green Burial council since 2010. Sam Perry is the President of the Green Burial Council International (501(c)(3)) Board of Directors.
