In Community Support of End of Life Psychedelic Care
The safe use of psilocybin can reduce anxiety and depression in people with life-threatening or terminal diagnoses, while also improving their quality of life and easing the fear of dying. People have sometimes sought out psilocybin retreats outside the US to experience these benefits. The problem is that traveling to a foreign country, not knowing what medical safeguards are in place or what their healthcare system offers, creates its own anxiety. Now, there are finally alternatives In Oregon and Colorado for safe and supported psilocybin care for anyone faced with a life-threatening or terminal diagnosis.
This panel will speak specifically about retreat and one-on-one options in these states for psilocybin-assisted care for those toward the end of life. We will also discuss the importance for facilitators wanting to work with this population to be trained in end of life care and to participate in their own psilocybin experientials to better understand and support their client's unique needs.
